Postnatal ReIntegration
What is Postnatal Reintegration?
Postnatal Reintegration is a term I have coined to describe both the intent of my work, and the outcomes achieved through the movement techniques I use in helping postnatal women restore their physical and mental well-being after childbirth.
As a Prenatal and Postnatal movement specialist, I have spent the last 20 years exploring and utilising various methodologies, including Pilates, DNS, Hypopressives, and myofascial releasing techniques, to create a truly effective and empowering postnatal reintegration process.
My approach is to teach the effective components of these methods, tailored to the individual or group I am working with, to arm them with the skills and understanding to take their practicing of these healing movements into their everyday life, thus supporting them long into their future.
Informed both by my personal experience of managing and healing from pelvic girdle pain (PGP), diastasis recti, and pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and from having worked with an extensive number of postnatal women since 2001, I am privileged and proud to witness the success of this approach.
How is it taught?
I support postnatal women in the following ways:
During 1:1 sessions in my studio or online, or through small group in-person courses in Cambridge.
I have created a carefully designed library of postnatal classes which are available through membership to my OnDemand Platform. This enables a postnatal woman to be guided through a comprehensive program from the comfort of her own home. The postnatal library comprises of breathing sessions appropriate from as early as 2 weeks post birth, movement sessions dedicated to supporting the healing of a diastasis recti and pelvic organ displacement, sessions to enable realignment of the torso post pregnancy, and a series of progressive classes that allow you to feel and see your strength and stability building. My intension and wish through my Postnatal Integration Pathway is to create the conditions for lasting healing and pave the way to a future of healthy dynamic movement.
Please get in touch if you would like to know more, to book a 1:1 or to reserve a space on an upcoming course.
